- Sauvie Island Beach Cleanup

Join ORCOBA for SOLV's annual "Down By The Riverside"
Collins Beach on Sauvie Island!
Saturday, May 19, 2007 - 9:00am - 1:00pm
Join thousands of Oregonians for a day of fun and volunteerism to
remind ourselves, and our communities, the importance of a clean
community for clean water.
Down By The Riverside includes watershed and community beautification
and enhancement projects. This volunteer event was started to restore
and enhance our riverside environments. Now it has evolved to embrace a
wide variety of projects to help maintain the watersheds where we all
live.
ORCOBA is Project Coordinator for this event at Collins Beach.
Activities will include: Beach, parking lot and wooded area cleanup;
invasive plant removal; pruning; recycling; trail maintenance; weeding;
and removal of debris deemed hazardous to wildlife by Oregon Department
of Fish &Wildlife.

show up on May 19th and register at Collins Beach between 8:45 -
10:00am.
Check in near Entrance 2 in the Collins Beach parking lot. We will also
have the ODOT Safety & Orientation video available for viewing, for
those who wish to participate in the ORCOBA Adopt-A-Highway cleanup by
Rooster Rock on May 26th (tentative) but have not yet viewed the video,
which is required by ODOT for all particpants.
