5 August 2007 - 5k BBFR at RR Location: Rooster Rock State Park, OR Columbia Gorgeous 5K "Beach Scramble" (Run/Walk) SUNDAY August 5th, 11 AM Start Columbia Gorgeous 5K "Beach Scramble" A fun adventure run/walk through the woods, beach, marsh and and trails of Sand Island. Gathering begins at 10am, 5K starts at 11am Entry Fee: Two canned food items donated to the Oregon Food Bank Awards: Top three overall men, women and age group winners Prizes and Fun Course: Along Sand Island beach and wooded trails. Start area at the West end of Sand Island Beach. Follow gravel access path (to left of East end lot bathroom), left on Dragonfly Trail and then Right on Buffalo Trail out to the beach (about an 700 yrd walk from the parking lot). Follow the orange ribbons. Rooster Rock Park is 22 miles East of Portland (I-84, exit 25). Park at the far East lot by the bathrooms where you enter the path down the hill to the start area. 12 August 2007 - Wreck Beach BBFR/W Location: Wreck Beach, Vancouver, B.C. The run starts at 11:30 AM SHARP!!!!! This run is scheduled to take advantage of the extreme low tide of the year. There are both 5k and 10k courses. Prizes also are awarded for best decorated buns and lots of other "significant" things. This is one of the THREE premier runs of each season. The other two being the BBFR (original) at Kaniksu Ranch and the BBFR (West) at Fraternity Snoqualmie. A special prize is offered for those participating in all three runs. I'm doing a weekend nude camping trip on Aug 17-19 (Fri-Sun) on a stranded primitive campsite along the North Fork of the Skykomish River. This is one of my favorite campsites . . . very relaxed and hassle-free nude camping and sunning along the river is at hand. To access the campsite requires a short hike of less than a mile and some river-walking in one to two feet of river water over what remains of the roadbed, but it is relatively level. 25 August 2007 - Nudestock Location: Fraternity Snoqualmie - Issaquah, WA Nudestock weekend is a long standing tradition at FS. It was started back in the early '90s when KISW sponsored the first one, several years later they pulled out but thankfully FS has carried forward the tradition. They have four great bands, and there are food venders there for the hungry. It is a regular day at the park and guests are welcome. Click here to return to calendar
